RECEPTIONIST
Responsibilities include client communications, scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, setting up new clients and patients, preparation and maintenance of medical records, filling prescriptions, computer operation, financial transactions, and front office and reception area maintenance. Receptionists will assume the responsibility for acquiring the medical and legal information necessary for the medical care of the patients (pets).
VETERINARY TECHNICIANS
Technicians must have completed a two year college course at an accredited veterinary technician school, or have passed a nationally held test after working in a veterinary hospital for two years, or have demostrated equivalent skills with at least 10 years of on the job training. Among their responsiblilities are client communications, outpatient wellness visits, medical and surgical take in and discharge appointments, radiology, anesthesia, laboratory procedures, medical procedures, pharmacy, operation and maintenance of instruments and equipment, inventory, daily treatment of hospitalized patients, computer operation, assisting in the operating room and maintenance of the OSHA and Hazardous Materials programs.
VETERINARY ASSISTANTS
Assistants are not required to have formal training or a college degree. Their duties include assisting the doctor and/or veterinary technician, daily care of boarders, cleaning and maintenance of the facility and equipment.
