Animals have always been an important aspect of Edi's life. Learning about animals and how to care for them has been her main interest since she was very young. She officially started a career involving animal care in the veterinary medical field and as a zookeeper in the Detroit area in the late 90's. After graduating from Michigan State University with a bachelor's degree in behavioral zoology and neuroscience she returned to her home range and pursued her interest in herpetology (the study of reptiles and amphibians). She recently finished her Master's degree in Environmental Science at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and is presently working on her PhD in Fisheries and Wildlife at Michigan State. Previous veterinary experience includes general practice as well as emergency and critical care for dogs and cats.
