Dr. Anitha Raj was born in Bangalore, India.  She graduated from the University of Agricultural Sciences in Bangalore India with a degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1997 and a Masters in Veterinary Pathology in 2000.  In December 2006 she completed her clinical evaluation program for foreign veterinary graduates at Tuskegee University in Alabama.  She worked as a Veterinarian at Banfield Pet Hospital in Tampa Florida.  She moved back to Michigan in 2007 with her husband Raj and their five year old daughter Shreya.
